How do I care for my Collegiate saddle?
Proper care is crucial for maintaining a certain level of moisture in the quality leather of your Collegiate saddle. Your saddle should be regularly cleaned, using glycerine saddle soap and a damp cloth or sponge to remove dirt, which may otherwise scratch the surface. Cleaning should always be followed with a rich, wax-based dressing. We do not recommend the use of oil on your Collegiate leather saddle.

How do I fit my Collegiate saddle to my horse?
Collegiate saddles featuring the original and best EASY-CHANGE® Gullet System enable you to alter the width of your saddle to custom fit the shape of your horse’s wither. You will find more information and instructional videos here. Collegiate Saddles recommend that you seek professional saddle fitting advice so that you can be confident you have achieved an optimal fit for you and your horse. If you have any concerns, please contact the store from which you purchased the saddle, so they may be of further assistance.

How do I know what size gullet my Collegiate saddle has?
All new saddles are fitted with a medium gullet (black) at point of manufacture. In the chamber at the head of your saddle the leather lining is fastened with touch tape, carefully pull the touch tape section down to view the color of your gullet.If your gullet has been changed after purchase the colors are sized as follows: Yellow=Narrow, Green=Medium Narrow, Black=Medium, Blue=Medium wide, Red=Wide, and White=extra wide.

​What is the warranty for my Collegiate Saddle?
Collegiate Saddles guarantee the Collegiate range of saddles for a period of 2 years against faulty materials, or workmanship. Further, the tree in your saddle is guaranteed against breakage for a period of 5 years, from the date of your saddle purchase. The warranty on a Collegiate saddle and its components is subject to use under normal conditions. You should retain the warranty card that comes with your Collegiate saddle, along with the original receipt as the retailer will require it should warranty work be required. Refer to the warranty card supplied with your Collegiate saddle for more information.

Do all Collegiate saddles feature the EASY-CHANGE® Gullet System?
All the Collegiate saddles featured on this website do have the EASY-CHANGE® Gullet System, and previous models in the range known under the Collegiate Convertible name also featured the EASY-CHANGE® Gullet system. Please note other older Collegiate models do not have a gullet system or featured an alternative gullet system called Collegiate Quick Change Gullet System. 

​What type of panels do Collegiate saddles have?
All the Collegiate saddles featured on this website feature traditional flock filled panels. Collegiate saddles use a synthetic flocking, which is both more resilient and impervious to sweat, ensuring better performance over a longer period of time. Previous models in the range known under the Collegiate Convertible name also featured a flock filled panel. Please note other Collegiate models available in the USA Market have in the past featured foam filled panels.

What do I do if I suspect my Collegiate saddle has a fault?
If you are at all concerned that your saddle may be faulty in any way, please return the saddle to the retailer from which you purchased it or alternatively your nearest retailer, so they may make an assessment. Should warranty work be required, the retailer will require the warranty card along with the original purchase receipt. Associated transport costs are the saddle owner’s responsibility.
